Description
Nortera is an established industry leader in the processing, packaging and distribution of canned and frozen vegetable products worldwide and is committed to quality, safety and service excellence.
We are currently seeking self-motivated individuals looking to expand their knowledge of the processing vegetable industry. These roles will work directly with the Agriculture department at each of our facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identification and monitoring of growth stages for pea, sweet corn, snap bean and lima bean crops
- Aiding in the collection of pre-harvest samples for the various vegetable crops
- Identification of in-field pest pressure for weeds, diseases and insects
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills;
- Proficient in the use of technology;
- Must possess a G license and a clean driving abstract;
- Enrolled in post-secondary education with an Agricultural direction;
- Able to work well independently;
- Ability to work weekends and extended hours as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The ability to work in all weather conditions with lifting and walking
- Fast paced, dynamic environment that best suits a high-energy individual
- Ideal candidate resides in Essex, Kent, Middlesex, Elgin or Oxford counties
