Description
Casual GL-MAN-Labourer opportunity for a seasonal position of approximately 90 days to 4 months.
The position is for a Clonal Genebank Field and Greenhouse Assistant.
Duties include:
-Managing genebank materials in greenhouses and orchards
-plant propagation and care
-collecting budwood
-assisting with grafting
-pruning fruit trees
-controlling weeds and excess growth
-measuring and characterizing plant phenology
-monitoring for pests and diseases
-placing traps
-planting and transplanting plants and tree stock
-harvesting fruit
Knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is required. The position also involves database entry and maintaining daily work logs.
