Loesen Farms Inc. is seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Grower to join our commercial greenhouse operation in Leamington, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about greenhouse production and eager to develop a career in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
-Monitor crop health and plant performance.
-Mix and manage fertilizer solutions.
-Adjust irrigation, fertigation, and climate control systems.
-Troubleshoot crop and greenhouse production issues.
-Collect, record, and report crop and environmental data.
-Assist with crop planning and production forecasting.
-Respond to greenhouse alarms and emergencies as needed.
-Maintain clean and organized growing areas.
Qualifications
Previous greenhouse experience is preferred but not required.
Growing experience is an asset.
Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Experience with greenhouse climate control systems (such as Priva, Hoogendoorn, or similar) is considered an asset.
Ability to work flexible hours, including being on-call for alarms.
Reliable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
