We are looking for a hands-on Grain Elevator Operator with mechanical aptitude, repair experience, and basic computer skills to join our team. This role is ideal for someone comfortable working with equipment and modern grain systems.
What You’ll Do
Operate grain handling equipment (receiving, drying, conveying, loading trucks)
Monitor and operate computer-based grain systems (dryer controls, scale systems, moisture systems, and basic reporting)
Enter and review scale tickets, loads, and inventory information
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on:
Conveyors, legs, pits, dryers, and bins
Bearings, belts, chains, motors, and hydraulics
Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues to prevent downtime
Assist with truck loading/unloading and grain movement
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility
Support seasonal harvest operations and off-season maintenance projects
What We’re Looking For
Experience working in a grain elevator, feed mill, or agricultural facility
Mechanical experience (farm equipment, industrial equipment, or millwright-style work)
Comfort using computers and touchscreen systems for:
Scale tickets and load records
Dryer and moisture monitoring
Basic data entry and reporting
Able to learn new software and systems
Comfortable using basic tools (wrenches, grinders, drills, etc.)
Ability to work independently and spot problems before they become failures
Physically capable of climbing ladders, working at heights, and lifting 50 lbs
Strong safety mindset
Valid driver’s license
Nice to Have (Not Required)
Welding experience
Electrical or motor control knowledge
Experience with automated dryers or PLC-controlled equipment
Experience with grain software or scale systems
Skid steer or loader experience
