Haggerty Creek Ltd. is looking for an Equipment Operator, to join our Bothwell team. As part of the Operations Division, you will learn and operate crop protection equipment such as fertilizer applicators, Airflow, Lime and Spreader Truck and or a Sprayer. In this role, you will be expected to learn how to deliver agriculture innovation and services in our communities to enhance farm customer profitability.

-What will you be responsible for:
-Provide an exceptional customer experience at every interaction.
-Understand and prioritize orders and a workplan for products or services that matches customer expectations with logistical capability, and initiate any actions required to effect timely delivery.
-Ensures that all associated documentation, including planning, as applied and computerized, is accurate and completed according to schedule.
-Assist in monitoring inventory levels and ensure adequate supplies are on hand to support upcoming requirements. This includes parts and maintenance items.
-Provides general labour for maintenance, and to operate equipment safely and efficiently inside and or outside the facility as required.
-Perform regular safety checks of the vehicle, keep the vehicles clean, and ensure that proper preventative maintenance, cleaning and lubrication is carried out as required.
-Ensures that safe loading and or unloading techniques are followed.
-Maintains current legislated and company required licenses, permits, etc.
-Has good knowledge of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, practices safe driving techniques and maintains a good driving record.
-Provides good housekeeping in and about the facility and within assigned work area.
-Performs other tasks associated with the handling of fertilizer and grain handled, when required.
-Understands and follows Haggerty Creeks health, safety and environmental policies and procedures required in case of an accident and follows detailed procedures as stipulated.

Requirements for this job:
-Preference given to individuals with an understanding of agriculture industry.
-Ability to work indoors and outdoors. Physical activity includes walking and climbing, loading and or unloading trucks, inspecting equipment, driving, etc.
-Ability to work irregular hours.
-May have or be able to obtain various licenses, permits, and or certificates as required e.g., Pesticide and or Professional Applicator designations.
-Preference given to individuals with a DZ license or an interest in obtaining one over time.

Haggerty Creek Ltd. was founded as a joint venture in April of 2001 by Chuck and Justin Baresich, with AGRIS Co-operative to better service the four counties area. Our farming background is strong and rooted in the community. We sell and recommend the same products we use on our own farms.

The market area primarily consists of a mixture of cash crop farms ranging from very small to very large. We also service specialty customers with vegetables, tobacco, nursery amongst other crops.
