Royal Brinkman Canada Inc is a customer service focused company looking for an Agronomy Technician to work the Kingsville/Leamington area. The successful candidate will gain experience in various horticultural settings such as greenhouse fruit and veg, ornamentals, nursery, and cannabis. Responsibilities:
• Under the direction of the Head Agronomist, relay to customers fertility and pest control
programs involving cultural controls, biologicals, pesticides and fertility products.
• Execute trials for new products and new uses.
• Implement media, tissue, sap and leachate sampling programs.
• Ability to work with Royal Brinkman team members to drive sales and agronomic
practices for customer profitability.
• Inspect and monitor plants for symptoms or signs of pests or diseases (such as spider mite,
aphids, thrips, botrytis, phytophthora, fusarium, etc).
• Provide a report on findings (complete a scout sheet) to the Head Agronomist.
• Comply with all Health & Safety and SOP procedures and policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Secondary school diploma or equivalent in Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field.
• Previous experience in a greenhouse or hort/ag environment an asset.
• Certified Crop Advisor Status (CCA-ON) or willingness to obtain.
• Intermediate level of computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Valid G drivers license and own reliable transportation required. Mileage paid.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral and spoken) in English.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and punctual.
• Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in a hot/humid environment and at heights.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as required during the season.
Permanent Fulltime
No weekends.
Salary: Competitive
