College Professor

Degrees:

M.Sc Agronomy - University of Guelph
B.Sc Agronomy - University of Guelph

Research Interests:

I am currently involved in a number of swine, beef and grain fed veal projects. All research initiatives are presently nutritional in nature dealing with co-product feeding or feeding strategies. However I am also interested in genetics, management, economic implications, meat and carcass quality, etc.

Recent or current projects include:

  • Mechanisms affecting pork meat quality in protein-restricted versus total feed-restricted dietary regimes
  • The effects of gender and feeding strategy on pig growth performance and meat quality
  • Grain Fed Veal Research Proposal: - The effects of feed borne mycotoxins on the performance, carcass quality and health of grain fed veal calves
  • The effects of feeding sorghum co-product from dry mill ethanol production to growing and finishing feedlot cattle
  • The effects of feeding corn and sorghum co-products from dry mill ethanol production to growing and finishing feedlot cattle
  • The use of byproducts from dry mill ethanol production as a feed ingredient in swine diets
