Awards Banquet Honours Ridgetown Campus Students

Student success at the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus, was recently celebrated at the annual Fall Awards event.

More than 100 special guests, including student award recipients, family members, friends, alumni, donors and staff, attended the event on November 16 at the Rudy H. Brown Rural Development Centre in Ridgetown.

Forty-four awards totalling more than $50,000 were presented to deserving students enrolled in diploma programs, including Veterinary Technology, Horticulture, Equine Care and Management, Environmental Technician and Agriculture.

“It was great to celebrate the students’ academic achievements, leadership involvement, and community support as well as recognize the fantastic support of our donors,” says Alison McMahon, Student Financial Aid and Awards Counsellor.

The generous contributions of many long-standing donors and new supporters are vital to the program’s success.

The program includes entrance, in-course, and academic proficiency awards.  Award selection criteria can be based on different factors, including volunteer work, campus extra-curricular and community involvement, academic achievement and future plans.

As future students consider their plans for fall 2023, please reach out to learn more about our diploma, certificate, and apprenticeship programs, and related entrance scholarships for some programs at ridgetownc.com or call 519-358-9542.
