Getting Involved
Students have an opportunity to get involved in many different activities and clubs on campus. You will find a variety of experiences waiting for you!
Spring Expo (Student Led Open House)
At Spring Expo, you can develop your leadership and team-building skills while you have fun with your classmates! The event is held in mid-March each year. Highlights include the Spring Expo Ball, tree-climbing demonstrations, a pet show, and 4-H Livestock Show. Get involved in planning the event or take part in various activities during the open house. The Spring Expo Open House is a great way for you to show family and friends, as well as our community, everything Ridgetown Campus has to offer.
Student Peer Helper Program
The Peer Helper Program offers academic support to all students. The Peer Helper team consists of eight to ten selected senior students from all programs, and is available to students on an as-needed basis. Peer Helpers offer both group and one-on-one study help for junior students, and provide assistance to help all students develop the study skills they need to succeed.
Students’ Council
The Students’ Council meets regularly to discuss student issues and plan student activities on Campus.
Student Ambassadors
Student Ambassadors develop their leadership skills by assisting with promotional and recruitment activities at Ridgetown. This is your chance to promote our campus to future students and their families.
Student Recreation Committee (SRC)
The Student Recreation Committee organizes a variety of recreational activities for students. Students can also participate in the annual Ontario Provincial Agricultural Colleges (OPAC) Winter Games, an event which opportunities to meet and compete with students from other University of Guelph campuses.
Community Projects
Giving back to the community is a priority for Ridgetown Campus students and each month they participate in a program to help others. Charitable organizations that benefit from student leadership and support include:

- United Way
- UNICEF
- Coats for Kids
- FCC - Drive Away Hunger
- Salvation Army Food Bank
